You will not find a price list here, and this page explains why. What you will find is everything that pushes a quote up or down — so that when you ask for one, you know what to look at. Even if you end up asking someone else.
A price list for coach hire can be one of two things. Either it is so generic that it tells you nothing — a "from" figure is no use, because your job is not the one it refers to. Or it is precise, and then it is hiding the items that only appear at the end: city access permits, waiting time, the late-night return.
We prefer the longer route: we look at your programme, we work everything out, and we send you a written price that does not change. What you read in the quote is what you pay.
What we can tell you publicly, and it is the part that actually matters, is what moves that number.
This is what surprises people most. A day inside Florence, with the vehicle waiting between stops, can cost more than a transfer from Milan — because in both cases the coach and the driver are committed for the whole day, but in the first one you add the cost of standing in the city.
It is not only about how many you are. The 25+1+1 minibus goes where the 51+1 coach cannot: gravel roads up to farmhouses, villages with narrow entrances, cypress-lined drives. Sometimes a group of 30 is split into two minibuses precisely because the villa cannot be reached any other way.
Florence, Pisa, Siena, San Gimignano, Rome, Venice, Milan: taking a coach in requires a paid permit, set by the local council, not by us. It is the item that makes the biggest difference between an honest quote and one that merely looks cheap.
From June to September there are fewer vehicles available in Tuscany and city permits cost more. The day matters too: a Saturday in wedding season is not a Tuesday in November.
A 4 a.m. departure for a flight, or a return after midnight from a wedding, is not an ordinary service: it affects shifts and sometimes requires a second driver. Tell us at the start, not at signing.
If the vehicle stays at your disposal beyond the agreed time, or if the job is far from base and the driver has to sleep away, those are real costs and we list them separately. We do not bury them in the total.
On a multi-day tour taking in Florence, Pisa and Siena, the access permits alone can account for a significant share of the quote. They are not a mark-up: they are published municipal tariffs, which we pay upfront and pass on to you at cost.
What makes them vary:
Worth knowing. A daily permit runs from midnight to midnight and you need one per vehicle, whatever the number of trips. If the programme calls for three passes through the same city on the same day, you pay once. Anyone quoting you "per entry" either does not know, or is making money on it.
A professional driver cannot drive more than 9 hours in a day, must stop for 45 minutes every 4 hours 30, and is entitled to 11 hours of rest between jobs. These are European rules, recorded by the vehicle's tachograph.
This has a concrete effect on the quote: some programmes that fit into one day on paper do not fit in reality. When that happens we tell you beforehand, and we suggest how to fix it — move a stop, start earlier, or put a second driver on. We would rather lose a job than take one that does not hold together.
All of these appear in the quote before you confirm. They do not turn up afterwards.
The fuller your message, the more final the price. What we need:
If you do not know something yet, say so anyway: we quote on what there is and update it once the programme is settled.
No. The price written in the quote is final, unless the programme changes: more stops, more hours, a different date. In that case we tell you before applying it, in writing.
The full-size coach costs more, but not in proportion to the seats: for 40 people one coach costs less than two minibuses. Below 25 passengers the minibus is almost always the right call, and in Tuscany it reaches places the other one cannot.
Yes. Over consecutive days the daily cost comes down, because you avoid the empty runs to and from the depot. If your programme spans several days, ask for a quote for the whole period rather than day by day.
Yes, we buy them before departure and you will find them listed in the quote at cost. You do not have to deal with anything, and the vehicle is not at risk of a fine.
Of course. A single airport transfer gets a quote just like a week-long tour, with the same response time.
We send a written price within two hours, with every item spelled out. No obligation.
