Lucca's symbol: 4.2 km of tree-lined walkway encircling the entire historic centre. They are the only intact city walls in Europe turned into a public promenade. Perfect for a group stroll or a bike ride (rentals at the foot of the walls).

The tower with trees on top: 230 steps for an unforgettable view over the sea of red roofs and the Apuan Alps. With large groups it's best to stagger the climb — the terrace is small.
Lucca is Puccini's city: his birthplace in Corte San Lorenzo is now a museum. For music groups and cultural trips it pairs well with the Puccini Museum and — in summer — the Puccini Festival in Torre del Lago, half an hour away by coach.
